New United releases are always eagerly anticipated and this one is, perhaps more than others have been, a sign of the direction that the United team are headed in. There was a lot of buzz online about this release before it came out, with video and audio popping up around the United youTube and mySpace pages. It's an album by the younger members of youth, with the songs being both written by and performed by them.
The album is an EP featuring seven tracks, but six of these are new, which by the standards of many new worship releases is a good proportion. The album kicks off with You Deserve, which builds up to the chorus, taking a good couple of minutes to get there, but the refrain is catchy and passionate "I can't imagine life without you, without you, 'cos it's all for you, yes it's all for you God." This is followed by Love Enough, a straight up worship anthem that sounds like vintage United - a good thing, it's short, punchy and up-tempo. One track that stands out for it's songwriting is You Reign, which starts out with the calvary story before breaking into a powerful refrain declaring that God Reigns. It's a great song that grows on you every listen and has went from being brushed over the first time I heard it to being probably my favourite track on the disc. As mentioned the EP features one track that is from another album, however, it's a great way to close the disc. Break Free initially featured on All Of The Above, and gives the kind of up tempo send off we used to get on United discs - anyone remember God is Moving? I wish more worship albums finished on loud, pacy songs like this!
The EP was released in limited numbers and as far as I have been able to find out, hardcopies were Australia only. You may be able to order from the Hillsong Music online store, but if not it's available to download from iTunes. I think they've done a really good job with this disc and I'm sure any fans of youth worship will really enjoy it.
