The revival generation series of CD's has been available stateside for some time now and are only just being released over here in the UK. At the end of last year we saw "Let Your Glory Fall" which was extremely well received and now it is followed up on survivor records by "Lovely noise". This is a collection of modern worship songs from Matt Redman, Sonicflood, Paul Oakley, Delirious, David Ruis and many more. The album features 13 tracks and is throughout perhaps a little edgier and rockier than the first in the series. The album kicks off with the emphatic "I want to know you" from Sonicflood although it does have the hanson-esque ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba's cutout but still makes a highly effective track. "Lord let your rain fall down" is another great track, written by Joel Auge. I am not sure whether Joel is the artist on this track but it is a really impressive contemporary worship song, with gripping edgy vocals. Another good feature is the Matt Redman classic "I will love you for the cross" which reminded me just how good the intimacy album is (and how I have to replace my scratched copy). Another feature from Matt's intimacy album is "The heart of Worship" this song needs no introduction and will surely go-down as one of the 90's classic worship song, and completing the intimacy trio is the up-beat "Let everything that has breath" Also included is the unforgettable epic "Historymaker" from the Delirious? Praise and worship days. The album is not without its share of memorable songs however there are also some less memorable ones, which seem to just pad the album out. It is over all a good CD and if you enjoyed the first album in the series then you will probably enjoy this one as well.
