This is the second CD in the Passion Live Worship series and is an exceptional follow up to the original. With Worship led by Charlie Hall, Chris Tomlin, Shelley Nirider, Christy and Nathan Nockels and Jami Smith the album was always going to have some exceptional Praise and worship on it. It features all kinds of worship songs from the up-tempo "freedom Song" to the inspirational "To Speak your name". It follows the Passion trend of exceptional musical and production qualities, especially on "Let everything that has breath". The Matt Redman classic is thoroughly done justice, it starts off with a full String section playing the intro. And also playing in-between verses. It is a really great track and it is pleasing to see such a variety of instruments being used on a worship album, as to many youth worship albums rely to heavily on the electric guitar. The stand out track on the album has to be Chris Tomlin's "Be Glorified" it starts off at a pleasant enough pace for the verses but then speeds up into a great chorus, it is such a great song to worship to. Another classic is "Your worthy of my praise" written in 1986 by David Ruis it seems to have went from strength to strength and is just a really classic worship song; it has lasted through so many changes of style in worship music and is still a great song. Another older song worked to great effect on the album is the contemporary favorite Michael W Smith's Angus Dei, recently performed by Third Day this track seems to be very popular at present. It has to be my favorite of all of the Passion series, it's a great CD and I would thoroughly advice anyone to buy it. |
