We here at Nu:Light are pleased to bring you a review of the new album from the exceptional american college worship event, Passion-One Day Live. Passion has been going for 3 years now putting on events for the Students of the United States to attend, constantly growing Passion is becoming one of the biggest worship events around. This CD includes worship led by non other than Chris Tomlin, Charlie Hall, Christy Nockels and Matt Redman! I have looked forward to this CD for months now as I find that the Passion albums are of exceptional quality and have a great atmosphere to them, this CD I am pleased to say is no different.

The CD kicks-off with a up-tempo worship anthem “The noise we make” with a rousing chorus line and some great worship leading from Chris Tomlin. This is followed by “Shout to the north” although I did not think that the original Delirious? version of this track was anything special Charlie Hall’s performance of it has clearly changed my views on it. Charlie is one of my favourite worship leaders and I think that he does a great job on this CD. The first Redman song on the CD is Track no 3 “Let my words be few” also on his much acclaimed album The Father’s song. I think that the song sounds really great in the live worship setting of this CD and is followed immeadiatley by the classic “Better Is One Day”. Led by Charlie Hall “Better is One Day” really is an anthem for the yout of today from all over the world showing how important the time we have in Christs prescence is. “Grace flows Down” is the first song on the album led by Christy Nockels is introduced by some great Piano playing and is an intimate cry of gratitude to the Lord, expect to hear more of Christy who is signed to Rocketown records. We then flow into “You are my king” and another classic in the form off “We fall down” led once again by Chris Tomlin with the song in both English and Setswana, I liked the way that the whole crowd was taught to sing the song in this language so that they could call a gathering in Botswana and the first thing they would hear would be the glory of God in their own language. In between the two is qoutes of scripture and the prayer for the 268 generation. “Salvation” by Charlie Hall follows in style with its great melody line and memorable tune. “One pure and holy Passion” is led by Candi Pearson another relativley new worship leader. Track 10 is another slower tempo song made up of two different songs “Kindness” and “Give us Clean Hands”. “Breathe is a track originally featured on the Vineyard Mega hit “Hungry” and is covered really well here by Christy Nockels. The final track on the album features Chris Tomlin and Matt Redman and is entitled “America” it speaks of the glory of the Lord coming to america and bringing healing and freedom to the people.

I have to say that this recording is an exceptional expression of worship to the Lord which leaves me hoping that Passion soon decide to come to our shores and have an event for our students also.
