“Majesty, Majesty, Your grace has found me just as I am, empty handed, but alive in Your hands.” For me that’s the defining moment of this CD, Charlie Hall's stirring rendition of Majesty, it really packs some punch, such a powerful song, performed brilliantly. We've came to expect very good things from the Passion series and this CD is in no way a let down, it's apt that the movement is called Passion, because that is what this album is absolutely full of, raw worshipful Passion.
The album as ever features some of the biggest names in worship today, with David Crowder Band, Chris Tomlin, Charlie Hall and Matt Redman, amongst others. From the opening energy of the infectious anthem 'No one like You' to the closing chorus of 'It is well' we have a disc full of good material. Matt Redman leads on four songs, 'All over the world' co-written by Martin Smith, and debuted at Passion this year, 'Whole world in His hands', 'Mission's Flame', which is a classic Redman worship track, and a new version of 'Nothing but the Blood'. Chris Tomlin features with some of the up-tempo worship songs that have made his 'Arriving' album a best-seller, 'How great is our God', 'Indescribable' and 'Your grace is enough'. As mentioned at the start, Charlie Hall is present with the emotional and intense version of 'Majesty' and 'Marvelous Light'. I was a little disappointed to have only two songs from David Crowder Band on the album, however, 'No One Like You' was a fitting and lively start, and 'Here is our King' was of the high standard we have come to expect from them. We are also treated to one song each from Chrity Nockels and Shane and Shane.
This is quite possibly going to be the worship album of the year, a must for all worship collections, I love the fact that Passion aren't people who have jumped on the worship bandwagon but are leaders who have been doing this for years and are full of energy in it. Five star.
