Recorded live at the New Day festival in Nottingham this summer, You Reign is a collection of ten tracks showcasing the vibrant, passionate gathering that the New Day events are. Thousands of young people are led in worship by Matt Redman, Paul Oakley and Simon Brading. The album features a number of the worship songs that have captured the hearts of worshippers around the world this past twelve months or so, with tracks like 'All Over The World', 'Holy is The Lord' and 'Dancing Generation', alongside some quality new cuts from Paul and Simon, such as the energetic and catchy 'Praise you' and the anthematic 'I'm alive'. The album is, as we have come to expect from Survivor, very well produced, and featured an Enhanced CD with video for playing on your PC. This is bound to be an attractive prospect for anyone who was at the event, or for people looking to hear the latest from some of Britain's best worship leaders. However, if you already have recordings such as 'How Great is Our God' from Passion, you will already have some of the tracks, while its nice to have familiar worship songs, I'd like to see an increase in the amount of new material, as the youth market being what it is means that any of us who buy a lot end up with numerous versions of the same tracks with no significant differences in the style. That said, this CD is bound to be a success which can only be good for the festival and for British Worship, there is enough quality and lively praise and worship on this record to suggest good things to come in the future from New Day.
