Lystra's Silence are an Idaho based four piece with a distinct modern rock style, infused with worshipful lyrics and musical passion. They have been playing together for five years now, and their sound is mature and full of energy, giving the clear impression of a group of musicians totally in tune with each other and their audience.
Deep Calls To Deep is their second album, and present a sound that will surely appeal to many, while so many other worship artists tread the same ground musically, Lystra are making their own way with well written, vertical, God centred songs, and music that sounds at home whether worshipping or just jamming out to some great beats. The band's sound can't really be pigeon holed into a specific genre or sound a like as they bring a good mix of energy and the let loose passion of Sherry Muchira's vocals. It's really great to see a young worship band with this much energy, in a market where there are so many boring bands, Lystra come at you with the amp's up on eleven, the keyboards driving forward, the drum sticks flying and the kind of vocals that demand response. I think there is a real lack in the market for band's like this, and hopefully the energetic sound of this shall inspire more budding worship artists to go with high octane styles.
After hearing this, all I can really say is, please, Lystra, can we have some more?
