It's been a little over a year now since American duo LaRue emerged on to the air waves with there self-titled debut on Reunion Records and after a successful year which has included supporting Rebecca St. James on the transform tour, they release there second album, transparent. The singer/songwriter siblings have excelled them things by extending their personal style further. The album is a folksy pop/rock style with a very earthy style to it. The album has been greatly successful in the USA with the video for the radio single jaded being play listed by the Disney channel. Track 6 "Near to me" is a real stand out track with a vibey guitar piece. The music of LaRue has matured tremendously with a much greater depth to the lyrics, which should both surprise and please their fans. The album is just altogether more grown up in feel, LaRue write all of there own songs and have with this album showed many styles which were not shown on their first album. Philip LaRue says that this probably shows through because some of the songs on the last album were 3 or 4 years old where as the songs on this album are new and fresh. The album features an acoustic hidden track, which is really pretty cool, it is more worshipful in nature than the rest of the album and is well worthy of a place, make sure that you check it out!
