New from Forefront records is this collection of Praise and Worship songs with a modern beat to them. Eterne includes 10 praise and worship songs, performed by some of the best contemporary artists in modern Christian music. The tracks are styled in a modern, youthful way with new dance tracks often mixed behind them. At first hearing of this idea I was very doubtful, as the MO:VATION series which tried this left me against this idea. I found on MO:VATION that the dance backing was excessive and to loud however Eterne proves that this can be done. The tracks on Eterne have the modern backing but the worship is still clear, it is not a dance album, it's clearly a worship album, only modernized. I felt that most of the tracks were quite good, and that the new versions of "Heart of Worship" and "Whisper My name" are especially good. They have that modern backing yet still the original integrity of the songwriter. Also included are "Jesus Blood" from Delirious and Matt Redman's "O Sacred King". Multi-Grammy winner Rebecca St. James performs the Hillsong classic "Shout to the Lord". There were two tracks on the album which I found were a let down, "Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble" performed by Raze was two radically changed and "I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever" by Eli was also changed to much for my liking. Overall I think that it is a good CD with some good tracks, and for fans of modern music, is a worthy investment.
